North Douglas County Community Fair 2011

at the Drain Civic Center and Park

205 West A Avenue

Drain, Oregon

"An old fashioned county fair in the historic timber community of Drain, Oregon."

The 2011 fair will be held on Friday, July 22nd and Saturday, July 23rd, and will include such events as pie eating contests, performances by local talent, a greased pole climb, animal exhibits, a pie baking contest and auction, and an Ag Olympics consisting of traditional fair-type games for kids and adults. This admission-free, family-oriented gathering will be the 89th running of the event that has become a tradition in the North County.

The Fair Book will be available around June 1st. This book will have the rules and classes for exhibitors, and will tell you how to enter the various contests, the pie baking contest and auction, and the annual Saturday morning parade. More than $700 was given out in prizes for the produce and craft exhibitors in 2010, as well as over $3500 in gifts in the annual raffle.

The theme the 2011 fair is "Blast from the Past". This year’s event schedule will be chock full of entertainment, ending with a Saturday night karaoke final in the great outdoors that will go on until midnight.
